Pushback Headsets

Superior comfort and noise attenuation, outstanding durability, and unique features define the GWC Inc. line of Pushback Communication Headsets. Choose from single or dual speaker models, all with rotating microphone booms for use from either side. Noise-canceling microphones offer clear communication while effectively masking background noise. Enjoy "Hands-Free" communications with our optional, patented, Shoulder-Activated PTT (push-to-talk) switch or employ the standard in-line PTT. Headsets are available with either fixed-overhead (single speaker model) or convertible headbands for over or behind-the-head use. Noise reduction ratings range from 23NRR (dual speaker) to 29 NRR (single speaker).

Cable Retraction System

The GWC Cable Retraction System (CRS) is a unique device which offers all the perceived benefits of wireless systems at a cost that is less, in the long term, than conventional extension cables and is more reliable than either. The CRS keeps the communication link off the ground and free from becoming entangled or overrun. Unlike other cable reels, the CRS does not incorporate brushes or similar rubbing contacts for electrical continuity that wear or become contaminated, resulting in compromised communication quality and expensive maintenance and delays. Instead, the CRS utilizes a patented, continuous, hard-wired connection that has no rubbing or sliding contacts. The CRS also includes our exclusive Break-away Cable that protects both the aircraft and the CRS from damage due to over-extension of the retractile cable. In addition, the quick connect feature of the Break-away Cable facilitates instant, in-service, repair of the most common failure of ground-to-cockpit communication systems, which is damage to the connector that plugs into the aircraft. In most cases, simply replacing the Break-away Cable will return a system to service, saving costly downtime and delays. The CRS is compatible with all pushback headsets.

Break Away Cable

The Breakaway Cable is designed exclusively for use with the CRS to protect both the aircraft and the electrical connectors from damage in the event that excessive force is applied to the cable. The cable is compatible with most aircraft (see 2 plug cable below for two-jack intercom systems) and the connector that plugs into the aircraft is protected with a collapsible boot.

Adapter Cable
